Community sits at the heart of life at The Riverly – and that journey officially began with the first social gathering for our future residents.

Held at Ryde‑Eastwood Leagues Club, the event brought together around 35 founding depositors and future neighbours for the very first time. The setting overlooking the site that would soon become home, guests were welcomed with refreshments as music played softly in the background.

As introductions were made, conversations quickly sparked and guests discovered they would soon become neighbours. Many began forming the first connections of what will become a close‑knit community. For many, the sense of community that had first drawn them to The Riverly through brochures and conversations suddenly became tangible. This gathering marked the beginning of new friendships – relationships that will help shape daily life and shared experiences at The Riverly.

Community in principle and in practice

As excitement grew and questions naturally followed, Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club CEO, Carl Pozzato addressed guests, sharing an update on the demolition that has commenced and the future construction detailing outlining what lies ahead. John Burgess, Director Vision Lifestyle Projects, introduced the sales team, reaffirming the team’s commitment and support throughout this important phase and ensuring future residents feel informed, supported and valued every step of the way.

For many attendees, this moment brought life at The Riverly into sharper focus. It demonstrated that community at The Riverly is not only a guiding principle, but a daily practice – one actively supported by thoughtfully designed shared spaces and facilities intended to nurture connection.

As longevity expert and author of Your Exceptional Life, Marcus Pearce, reminded us at our launch event, strong social connections play a vital role in ageing with joy and fulfilment. This first social gathering marked the beginning of a series of opportunities designed to help future residents build meaningful relationships well before move‑in day.

Behind the scenes, a strong layer of support and services has also been designed to remove everyday stresses – freeing up time and energy for residents to enjoy a vibrant, independent and socially connected lifestyle.

A location that supports connection

The Riverly’s prime location further enhances this stress‑free, social way of living. Ryde‑Eastwood Leagues Club, located just across the road, offers a natural extension of daily life – providing a familiar and welcoming place for residents to meet, dine, and spend time together both now and into the future.

The Riverly taking shape: Site demolition works began in March

A journey just begun

Once the formal part of the evening concluded, many guests stayed on – continuing conversations, moving between groups, and reconnecting with new acquaintances. There was a noticeable shift as the evening progressed: interactions became easier, more relaxed, and more familiar.

By the end of the event, guests were no longer arriving as strangers. They had begun to understand who would soon be living around them and what that shared environment might feel like. Many asked about future gatherings and when the next opportunity to come together would be.

Regular events are planned, to continue to build on our community, but also provide meaningful insights into decision that lay ahead including choosing variations, care services, selling homes, choosing agent but most importantly building The Riverly community. These events will include regular updates and guest speakers and a range of social experiences.

“Stephen & I really enjoyed the gathering on Friday and are grateful for the opportunity to meet our new neighbours. We look forward to the next one.”

Wendy and Stephen – founding depositors

These gatherings will continue to offer future residents opportunities to connect, build familiarity, and strengthen relationships – making the transition into life at The Riverly gradual, warm and welcoming. This first coming together of our founding depositors marked an exciting step in our shared journey. The Riverly community is already taking shape, and it will continue to grow as residents spend more time together and deepen the connections that have already begun.
